The United States is "tasting the rainbow" with Skittles coming in first place on the survey. Following shortly behind is Reese's, M&M's, Snicker's, etc.

Saltwater taffy and Hot Tamales surprised researchers, winning the number one spot in states like Washington, Wyoming, Arizona and New York.

The National Retail Federation estimates shoppers will spend $2.6 billion on Halloween candy in 2019.

But perhaps the most important rule of thumb when buying candy is buy what you like to eat. Research shows more than 50% of parents will stash some Halloween candy to enjoy later in the year.
